"The teachers are amazing. I can't express the joy and gratefulness I have for them and what they accomplished with my children. I believe the advantages this program gives over public kindergarten will help my children overcome any challenges they might encounter in further educational opportunities and life's challenges."

Our center directors are selected for their educational background, experience in early childhood education, and dedication to providing a high quality early childhood program. We are fortunate to have directors who have worked with our organization for many years and who have chosen to place their own children in our centers. Although all of our centers have specific guidelines by which the centers must operate, we welcome the unique features that each director brings to her center. Each center reflects the director's individuality.

Welcome to The Children's Workshop on Grant Avenue. I would like to take a minute to introduce myself; my name is Kat Estoque. I have been working with The Children's Workshop since August of 2016. At first, I was working as the lead toddler two's teacher and then became the lead preschool teacher. In the winter of 2018 I was promoted to Assistant Director while I was working on my director certification. Soon after obtaining my director certificate through the state of Colorado I was given the opportunity to become director of Grant avenue.

I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and received my associates degree in Early Childhood Education. While in Chicago I was the assistant program director of a gymnastics based facility which taught preschool classes. With my passion for dance and movement I was able to develop my own teaching style that incorporated learning and gross motor development. My husband and I moved to Fort Collins in 2016 and have been enjoying mountain life ever since. We are expecting our first child in the winter of 2019! During my time in Colorado I have continued taking classes at Front Range Community College and at the Early Childhood Council.

At Grant avenue, we encourage children to learn through hands on experiences to explore their environment. It is important to our school that we incorporate nature and the outside world in our learning. With nature lessons and community speakers our students are given the opportunity to explore the diversity of our city. We use redirection and positive guidance strategies to encourage independence and independent decision making skills. We focus on each child’s individual strengths to help foster them in a loving, nurturing environment. This affords our children the opportunities to explore, create, and develop self-confidence to learn about their world. We use a few resources available as guidelines to create the highest quality care for our children. They include the Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines, Core Knowledge Curriculum, and Colorado Shines standards. These provide our teachers with the tools to create meaningful and appropriate lesson plans to foster the most efficient growth of each child.

We pride ourselves on having a close knit school which puts our children first. It is important for us to develop meaningful relationships with both our students, parents, and their family members. If we all work together, we can ensure that each child will shine and grow to become something great, maximizing their full potential. I am excited to get to know you and your family and hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,
Kat Estoque
