"The administration and teachers at the Sunview Children's Workshop have become part of our extended family. It's comforting to know that our children are learning and being loved while we are working."

Our center directors are selected for their educational background, experience in early childhood education, and dedication to providing a high quality early childhood program. We are fortunate to have directors who have worked with our organization for many years and who have chosen to place their own children in our centers. Although all of our centers have specific guidelines by which the centers must operate, we welcome the unique features that each director brings to her center. Each center reflects the director's individuality.

Thank you so very much for considering The Children's Workshop at Grant Street as your child(ren)'s home-away-from-home! I'd like to take a moment of your time to introduce myself. My name is Christy DeLorme and I am the Director here. My varied background includes various professional experiences including those in the public and private sectors, owning my own (and subsequently selling) home daycares, and moving into corporate childcare. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education; completed advanced graduate studies in Educational Administration; and gained certificates as Large Center Director and Elementary Teacher (K-5). Additionally, I have over ten years of administrative experience within educational settings, seven years working directly for non-profit organizations, and thirteen years of hands-on teaching/childcare experience.

Personally speaking, my husband and I have been happily married for 15 years this year and we have two gorgeous daughters, ages 13 and 9 and one fabulous son who is 2 1/2. As you might imagine, I don’t have much free time but when I do, I enjoy spending time with family, swimming, camping, hiking, reading, and couponing!

As an Educational Administrator, it has always been my passion to create an environment where the family thrives, feels safe and comfortable, and knows that they too are valued; that my service isn’t limited to the child(ren) in our care. My aspiration is to establish an organizational culture and educational program conducive to student learning and success. My guiding principle is to live my life by the “Golden Rule,” treating others the way I would like to be treated. This one ideal drives everything I do within my personal and professional life. Every day, I strive to treat all persons that I meet with dignity, respect, compassion and empathy.

I value and respect your time; thank you for sharing that time with me! Your consideration is greatly appreciated.
