Our center directors are selected for their educational background, experience in early childhood education, and dedication to providing a high quality early childhood program. We are fortunate to have directors who have worked with our organization for many years and who have chosen to place their own children in our centers. Although all of our centers have specific guidelines by which the centers must operate, we welcome the unique features that each director brings to her center. Each center reflects the director's individuality.

Dear Parents,

I would like to introduce myself; my name is Kathy Pinnell. I joined the Children’s Workshop family in 1999. Prior to my commitment as a director, I worked several years as a preschool teacher. I received my education from Colorado State University in Early Childhood Education and went on to Front Range Community College for my Director Certification. I am licensed as a director of ECE programs through the State of Colorado. My education and training continues each year through additional college classes and workshops. I am active in the early childhood community of professionals here in Fort Collins.

Our philosophy reflects our dedication to high quality care and education for young children. At the Sunview location, we use the Hersh Core Knowledge Curriculum. We believe that children learn by doing and need small group sizes to receive the necessary attention for optimal development. Childhood should be a happy, exciting time of life, a time that allows children the opportunities to explore, create and develop self-confidence. Our classrooms offer enriching opportunities for learning and exploration through play.

Our preschool program reflects the Colorado Preschool Standards, as well as the Core Knowledge curriculum. The Children’s Workshop strives to meet the high standards expected in preschool programs in Loveland.

Our toddler program is a loving environment in which the walking one year old and inquisitive two year old’s can grow and learn.

Young children need educated, well-trained, and caring teachers who will guide them to become independent learners and self-confident individuals. We believe parents are the most significant people in their child’s life. Through mutual respect and open communication, the staff strives to create a strong partnership with parents. We practice positive methods of discipline that help establish consistent and age appropriate limits, which assist children function in their world. Our goal at The Children’s Workshop is to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs of each child in our care.
